Tava was started by three college friends (Jason, Hasnain and Vijay). After graduating from Duke, they each went on to work in consulting and finance and learned a lot about what it takes to run some of the world’s greatest businesses.
Work and life kept them busy so they ended up eating out a lot. Many dozens of soups, salads and sandwiches later, they kept coming back to the same question: why is it so difficult to find flavorful food? They had each grown up eating the delicious food of South Asia and it felt like their friends and colleagues were missing out. People deserved to know how good things could be. An idea was born.
They quit their high-paying jobs to do something they loved: making other people happy through the magic of food. The mission was simple: help America fall in love with the flavors of South Asia. They moved to California where the sun shines bright, the ingredients taste great and the people are excited to try something new. The rest, as they say, is history.
